Your lists and results
The races run entirely in your browser. The names you paste, your settings and your past results are saved in your browser's local storage on your device, so they're there next time. They are never sent to us. Press Clear on any page, or clear your browser's site data, to remove them.
That makes Rando Race safe to use with a class list: no student names leave the teacher's computer.
Visit counts
We count page visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't build a profile of you, and doesn't follow you to other sites. We see totals like page views, countries and browser types.
We also use Google Analytics to see which pages and races people use. It sets cookies and sends Google details like the pages you view, your browser and your approximate location. When you run a race, it records which tool you used, how many racers there were and the race length. It never receives the names you type.
Visitors in the EU, UK and Switzerland are asked before Google Analytics starts. Anyone can block it with Google's opt-out add-on or their browser's tracker blocking.
Email signups
If you leave your email in a "keep me posted" form, we store it with the option you picked, the page you were on and the date, and we get a copy by email. We use it only to tell you about the paid version if it happens. We don't sell it or share it. Email hello@randorace.com and we'll delete it.
Hosting
The site is served by Cloudflare, which handles requests (including your IP address) to deliver pages and block attacks, as any web host does.
Links to other sites
The Find it near me button on the lunch race opens Google Maps. What happens there is covered by Google's privacy policy.
Ads
There are no ads right now. If we ever add them, we'll update this page first.
Kids
Kids use Rando Race in classrooms, which is why nothing typed into a race leaves the device, not even to our analytics. The email form is meant for adults, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
