How the teams get made
Paste your names and pick how many teams you want, from 2 to 10. Press Start and watch the teams fill up as racers get out of the maze. The first racer out joins Team A, the second joins Team B, and it keeps going around like dealing cards.
If the group doesn't split evenly, the first teams get one extra player. Twelve people in five teams makes two teams of three and three teams of two.
Random, not balanced
Team Race makes random teams. It has no idea who's fast, who's tall, or who knows every trivia answer. If you need balanced teams, choose captains yourself, leave them off the list, and race everyone else into one team per captain. The race is still a fair way to hand out the rest, and nobody can say you picked favorites.
Good for
- Gym class and recess. Faster than picking captains, and no one gets chosen last.
- Pickup games. Basketball, soccer, kickball, volleyball.
- Trivia and game nights. Mix up the usual groups.
- Group projects and breakout rooms. Paste the roster, set the number of groups, and copy the result into your class page.
Need a speaking order inside each team? Run the order race after.
